§ Mr. Peter BottomleyA scheme for the improvement of junction 1 was included in the trunk road programme last year. In addition, climbing lanes are to be provided between the A41 overbridge and junction 4 and at junction 9. The M40 extension between London and Birmingham is expected substantially to relieve the M1.
