To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether individuals from the private sector to be used by his Department as part of the organisation of teams of enterprise counsellors will be paid according to Civil Service pay scales; and to whom they will be responsible.

No. Enterprise counsellors will be contracted to the Department of Trade and Industry at £70 per day plus reasonable expenses. They will be responsible directly to the DTI through its regional office network.
