HC Deb 03 February 1988 vol 126 cc639-40W
70. Sir Anthony Grant

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether Her Majesty's Government have any plans to seek to reduce further the number of unpaid parking fines by diplomats in London; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Eggar

We seek continually to reduce the number of unpaid parking fines by diplomats in London through the firm application of the policy described in its White Paper on diplomatic immunities and privileges (Cmnd. 9497). The figures for unpaid fines for the full year of 1987 are not yet available, but will be published as soon as possible. We expect that they will show a further decrease on those for 1986.
