Mr. Cummings

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services how many newly qualified midwives entered into practice in(a) Hartlepool area district health authority, (b) Sunderland district health authority and (c) Durham district health authority in the years 1984–85, 1985–86 and 1986–87.

Information for individual hospitals is not held centrally. "King's and St. Thomas's health districts" have been interpreted as Camberwell and West Lambeth district health authorities.

Funded establishment figures are not collected centrally.
