HC Deb 02 February 1988 vol 126 c529W
Mr. Simon Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what proportion of jobs created in the London Docklands development corporation area since 1981 has gone to those resident in the docklands boroughs before 1981.

Mr. Trippier

No up-to-date information is available. A survey commissioned by LDDC in 1985 showed that about 30 per cent. of jobs in firms attracted to the corporation's area up to that date were taken by persons who were residents of the three docklands boroughs. A new survey was conducted in 1987 and its results will be published soon.
