Mr. Gordon Brown

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list for Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland, how many pensioners on supplementary pensions he estimates to have savings of £500 or more.

[holding answer 14 December 1987]: The number of claimants in the United Kingdom in receipt of supplementary pension (that is men aged 65 or over and women aged 60 or over) who have savings in excess of £500 is as follows:
