HC Deb 01 February 1988 vol 126 c426W
Mr. Corbett

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many holders of(a) shotgun licences and (b) firearms certificates there are in each Birmingham parliamentary constituency, by name, at the latest convenient date and in each of the preceding two years.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

The information available centrally on shotgun and firearm certificates on issue relates to police force areas and for 31 December 1986 is published in tables 2 and 4 of Home Office statistical bulletin issue 2/88, a copy of which is in the Library.

Mr. Corbett

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are the current arrangements for maintaining and regularly updating a register of shotgun licences and firearms certificates reported to the police as lost or stolen; how often such a list is circulated to police forces in England and Wales; and what arrangements are made in relation to ammunition reported stolen.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

There is no register of shotgun and firearm certificates reported to the police as lost or stolen. Ammunition reported as stolen would, as is the case with firearms and shotguns, be placed on the police stolen property index.
