To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he plans to upgrade his Department's equal opportunity officer post and bring it into line with Civil Service guidance, regarding grades 5/6 for the larger Departments.

I see no need to upgrade the equal opportunity officer post. I am fully satisfied that the grade 7 incumbent has the full support of the grade 5 head of branch and the grade 3 head of personnel and has direct access to, and the confidence of, the principal establishment officer as suggested in the central guidance.
