§ Mr. Allen
To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many people are employed on YTS in Nottingham.

§ Mr. Cope
As at 19 December 1988, there were 3,619 young people in training on YTS in the city of Nottingham, of whom 518 had employed status.

§ Mr. Ronnie Campbell
To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many young people have come to the end of their bridging allowance without an offer of a YTS place in Blyth Valley.

§ Mr. Cope
It is not possible to provide this information, either nationally or for Blyth Valley. While young people are receiving bridging allowance they are entitled to take a job or YTS place without going through the careers service, and may also return to full-time education without letting the careers service know. Others will have reached the end of their bridging allowance period without making themselves available to receive the offer of a YTS place.
