To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will reconsider his decision not to review the case of Mr. W. G. Steele.

§ Mr. John Patten
The case has been reviewed on more than one occasion. Neither my right hon. Friend nor his predecessors have found grounds in the representations made to justify referring the case to the Court of Appeal. My right hon. Friend remains ready to reconsider the case, but only if new evidence or other new matters directly pertinent to the conviction are raised with him.
