To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what account he takes of the number of high-risk food premises within a local authority area when determining local authority expenditure.

Is assessing local authorities' expenditure needs my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State takes into account environmental health duties. This is determined by a number of factors including the total floor spaces of shops and restaurants in an authority's area.
