HC Deb 22 December 1988 vol 144 c403W
Ms. Walley

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what information he has as to how many outbreaks of food poisoning were investigated by environmental health departments, and as to in how many cases the source of the outbreak was identified.

Mr. Freeman

Comprehensive information is not held centrally in the form requested. Cases of food poisoning are routinely reported to the communicable disease surveillance centre, which collects, analyses and interprets epidemiological data for those involved in the prevention of communicable deseases including food poisoning.
