Whether, in planning the new branch of the M.40 to Birmingham, note has been taken of the following four points where the flow of traffic is likely to be impeded:
- (i) Western Turn;
- (ii) the hill above the Railway Bridge;
- (iii) the traffic lights at Park Royal;
- (iv) traffic lights at Hillingdon crossroads.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)The Oxford to Birmingham Route Traffic Model developed to provide estimates of future traffic flows within the M.40 London-Oxford-Birmingham corridor covered a large area of West London. Schemes to improve the four remaining junctions on the A.40 within Greater London where congestion occurs are included in the trunk roads programme.
