HC Deb 21 December 1988 vol 144 c342W
48. Mr. Kilfedder

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will take steps to introduce a devolved assembly or parliament for Scotland.

Mr. Rifkind

The Government believe that the present constitutional arrangements provide for Scotland's interests to be fully respected and recognised. The Government therefore have no plans to introduce a devolved assembly or parliament for Scotland.
