To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the amount available for capital expenditure on schools and further education establishments in 1989–90, including the voluntary aided sector.

Local education authorities have today been informed of their allocations of prescribed expenditure for 1989–90, and of the allocations for capital spending by the governors of voluntary aided and special argeement schools in their area. The allocations are as follows:
