HC Deb 20 December 1988 vol 144 c157W
Dr. Michael Clark

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement about the external financing limit for London Regional Transport.

Mr. Portillo

The external financing limit for London Regional Transport for the current financial year has been increased by £54 million to £275 million to allow for additional safety-related expenditure following the fire at King's Cross and the purchase of Victoria coach station from the National Bus Company. The increase will be charged to the reserve and will not, therefore, add to the planned total of public expenditure.
