Advertising against smoking takes place within the "Look After Your Heart" campaign and this is monitored through regular tracking studies. This s[...]owed that in 1988, 92 per cent. of the population were aware of national no smoking day, with about 2.5 million smokers taking part. Follow-up to 1986 No Smoking Day suggests that up to 50,000 smokers may have given up permanently.
