HC Deb 16 December 1988 vol 143 cc745-6W
Mr. Beggs

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will publish the information he has readily available on the accountancy firms which have submitted business plans or proposals in each of the last three years to the local employment development unit and the industrial development board on behalf of clients.

Mr. Viggers

Although most applicants to the industrial development board and the local enterprise development unit for selective financial assistance are supported by business plans, these are not necessarily prepared by accountancy firms. Information on the authors of business plans for the approximately 2,900 applications received by IDB and LEDU over the last three financial years is not readily available and could be compiled only at disproportionate cost by examination of individual applications.
