To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will take steps to ensure that United Kingdom immigration rules and the United Nations draft conventions on the rights of the child are consistent; and if he will make a statement.

The draft conventions remain under discussion and I have no present plan to make changes to the rules for this purpose.
