To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs to what extent the British authorities in Berlin are responsible for the actions of the Berlin security service, Berliner Verfassungsschutz.

Under the declaration of Berlin of 5 May 1955, the Allied Kommandatura hasthe right to take…such measures as may be required to…maintain the status and security of Berlin".

However, the Berlin authorities have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the city, including the operation of the security services.
