To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many Employment training scheme places have been taken up on Merseyside service since the inception of the scheme.

At 2 December 1988, there were 3,446 people training on employment training on Merseyside.

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many employment training scheme places have been taken up in Blyth Valley.

At 2 December 1988, there were 1,682 people training on employment training in the north Tyne area, including Blyth Valley.
