To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what restrictions exist on former Government Communications Headquarters officers wishing to emigrate to the Soviet Union.

Former GCHQ employees are not permitted to visit the Soviet Union for three years after the end of their service. Thereafter, they are free to visit or reside in the USSR.
