Raedler of Lausanne for the registration of her two sons, Marc and David, as British citizens, about which he first wrote to the Department in January.
§ Mr. RentonApplications for the registration of Mrs. Raedler's sons as British citizens were made at the British consulate general in Geneva on 9 February and received in the Home Office on 29 February.
Following the large number of applications for citizenship which were received last year, the average waiting time for processing registration applications is 13 months. We shall deal with these applications as soon as possible and inform Mrs. Raedler of the decision.

§ Mr. RentonMy right hon. and learned Friend the Member for Ribble Valley (Mr. Waddington) replied to my hon. Friend's letters of 30 October 1986 and 19 November 1986 on 13 January 1987, setting out the position in Mr. Badrawi's case. A further letter dated 13 July 1987 from my hon. Friend to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, was copied to the Home Office and a reply sent by my private office on 18 September.
Mr. Badrawi's application was granted on 3 November 1988.
