§ Mr. WrayTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if, further to his reply to the hon. Member for Glasgow, Provan on 5 December,Official Report, column 16, he will set out functions of water authorities for which development is and will be allowed in their land.
§ Mr. Chope[holding answer 8 December 1988]: Schedule 2 to the Town and Country Planning General Development Order (SI No. 1813/1988) contains general permissions which may apply to water authority land. In addition, parts 10, 14, 15, 16 and 17 (class E) of schedule 2 all specify particular kinds of development for which the GDO grants general permission, unconditionally or subject to specified conditions, and which may be particularly relevant to water authorities. If a water authority's development proposal requires specific planning permission, the application will be determined on its merits by the local planning authority.
