- Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Mr. Chope)—Austin Rover Montego (temporarily allocated a Rover Fastback 820 on trial)
- Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Mrs. Bottomley)—Vauxhall Cavalier
- Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (The Hon. Colin Moynihan)—Ford Sierra Sapphire
§ Mr. Tony BanksTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if there exists any hierarchy in terms of vehicle allocation for Secretaries of State, Ministers of State and Parliamentary Under-Secretaries.
§ Mr. ChopeCabinet Ministers, unless security reasons demand otherwise, are allocated Austin Rover 820 series vehicles. Other Ministers are allocated Austin Rover Montegos, or equivalent models.
