§ Mr. WaldegraveMr. Cimini was transferred on 8 December 1988 to the United Kingdom under the provisions of the Council of Europe convention on the transfer of sentenced persons, which came into force for Turkey on 1 January 1988. During his time in prison, Mr. Cimini received monthly consular visits.
Her Majesty's embassy, Ankara, liaised with Turkish and British authorities over Mr. Cimini's application under this convention.
