§ Mr. John Patten110 rapes were recorded by the Greater Manchester police in 1987 and 118 rapes were recorded in the period 1 January to 30 September 1988. Annual figures are published in table 3.1 of "Criminal statistics, England and Wales, Supplementary tables, Volume 3".
