To ask the Secretary of State for Health what information he has as to the acceptable level of mercury in fish beyond which they become unfit for human consumption.

[pursuant to her reply, 29 November 1988, c. 198]: The provisional tolerable weekly intake of mercury should have been given as 0.3 mg per week of which no more than 0.2 mg should be organic mercury.
