§ Mrs. CurrieYes, as far as we are aware. All babies are given a physical examination by the midwife attending the birth. We have no details at the moment on the examinations carried out by the doctor.
It is however, the responsibility of the local health authorities through the maternity services liaison committees to ensure that recommendation A.16 is implemented.
