§ Mr. LilleyThe public sector debt repayment was £3.6 billion in 1987–88, ¾ per cent. of GDP. In 1978–79 there was a public sector borrowing requirement (PSBR) of £9.2 billion, 5¼ per cent. of GDP, equivalent to a PSBR of £22.3 billion at 1987–88 levels of GDP.
