To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what information he has on the half-life of argon 41; what types of radiation argon 41 emits; and what are their energy levels.

I am advised by the National Radiological Protection Board that the radioisotope Argon 41 has a half-life of 1.83 hours. The energies of its principal emissions are:

beta particles: 1.198 mega electronvolts

gamma rays: 1.294 mega electronvolts
