§ 66. Sir David PriceTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what progress is being made in the Council of Ministers of the European Community in determining and then implementing a common policy towards monopolies, mergers and restrictive practices.
§ Mr. MaudeA European policy towards monopolies and restrictive practices is already in place. Discussions on the European Community Commission's proposals for a European merger control regulation were held at the Internal Market Council on 18 November. Some progress was made, but much still remains to be decided. Further discussions will be held at the Internal Market Council on 21 December.
