To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) if he will give the figures for the number of practising dentists(a) joining and (b) leaving the dental lists of family practitioner committees in the latest available five-year period;

(2) what information he has on the number of general dental practitioners who have left the National Health Service for private dentistry during the last five years.

The number of general dental practitioners in England and Wales who joined or left the lists of family practitioner committees in the 12 months up to 30 September of each of the last five years are as follows:
