HC Deb 06 December 1988 vol 143 c96W
Mr. Thurnham

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received about the availability of adequate capacity for north-western travellers wishing to fly to Singapore and about being able to fly direct from Manchester airport; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

I have received a number of representations this year about the level of capacity being mounted on the route between Manchester and Singapore.

United Kingdom and Singapore aviation officials will be meeting early next year to review the possibilities for liberalising air services arrangements between our two countries. This will include arrangements on the Manchester-Singapore route.
