To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has had from landowners, foresters and individuals engaged in wood processing industries about the Government's forestry policy; and if he will make a statement.

[holding answer 5 December 1988]: In the past two months, my right hon. and learned Friend has received nine letters from organisations and individuals about various aspects of the Government's forestry policy, including the support arrangements and the prospects for forestry. He has taken the opportunity to emphasise the Government's commitment to the continuing expansion of forestry.
