Mr. Oppenheim

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much section 11 grant, under the Local Government Act 1966, Derbyshire county council received in each of the last five financial years for which figures are available; and on what schemes this money was spent.

Mr. John Patten

The amount of grant paid to Derbyshire county council under section 11 of the Local Government Act 1966, in respect of each of the last five years is shown in the table. The grant represents 75 per cent. of the eligible expenditure by the authority on posts addressing the special needs of ethnic minorities of Commonwealth origin.
