§ Mr. DickensTo ask the Secretary of State for Health whether he will make it his policy to implement recommendations of the forthcoming United Nations convention on the rights of the child in so far as they relate to his responsibilities.
§ Mr. MellorA working group, on which the United Kingdom is represented, began the second reading of the draft convention in Geneva on 28 November.
The draft covers a range of issues of interest to several Government Departments. The United Kingdom has played a leading part in discussions on the drafting of the convention and we hope to be in a position to ratify its recommendations on completion.
