§ Mr. John Patten[holding answer 1 December 1988]: Two officials voluntarily wore electronic monitoring 411W devices. The preliminary tests yielded useful experience as part of our evaluation of these devices, but were not intended to be a systematic assessment of the equipment. Full trials in two or three areas will begin shortly.
