§ The Prime MinisterThe Public Appointments Unit maintains a list which currently contains over 5,000 names of people from all walks of life who might be considered for public appointments. It would be inappropriate to comment on individuals who have been nominated in confidence, but nominations submitted to my office from whatever source would be referred to the unit as a matter of course.
