Mr. John D. TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the present level of community policing in the Braniel and Belvoir estates in the Strangford constituency; and if he will make a statement on the future of policing in these two estates.
§ Mr. Ian StewartIn each of the Braniel and Belvoir estates, daily attention is given by a local neighbourhood constable. Passing attention is given by divisional mobile patrol vehicles. Deployment of the RUC is a matter for the Chief Constable but I understand that there is no intention at present to alter the level of police cover in these estates.
