HL Deb 28 April 1988 vol 496 c368WA
Baroness Nicol

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What arrangements have been made for the disposal of radioactive waste from Seal Sands.

The Minister of State, Department of the Environment (The Earl of Caithness)

Radioactive waste may only be disposed of from industrial premises on Seal Sands subject to coditions in authorisations issued by HM Inspectorate of Pollution. The authorisations set, among other things, activity limits for each type of waste, and HMIP inspectors ensure that all disposal conditions are satisfied.
