§ Mr. Ian StewartExercise Elder Forest 1988 was the latest in a biennial series of exercises the purpose of which is to test procedures for the air defence of the United Kingdom. The exercise took place from 18 to 22 April. A full assessment of the lessons learned is in hand, but will take some time to complete. Initial indications are that the exercise was successful in meeting its aims.
