HC Deb 27 April 1988 vol 132 c174W
Mr. Kirkwood

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services why polyester fabrics enclosing flame-retardant polyester are still approved for use by his Department.

Mrs. Currie

Only the flame retardant (FR) forms of polyester fabric or treated cotton are recommended for use as primary and secondary covers enclosing FR polyester in-fill for continental quilts used in the NHS. All supplies under national contract comply with these requirements.
