To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many bus services have been discontinued in (i) Gwynedd, (ii) Clwyd and (iii) Powys since 26 January 1987; and if he will make a statement.

§ Mr. Wyn Roberts
The number of bus routes discontinued since 26 January 1987 are:

Gwynedd 8

Clwyd 14

Powys Nil

In the same period the numbers of new routes introduced are:

Number

Gwynedd 20

Clwyd 15

Powys 2

These figures indicate a net increase in bus routes.
