HC Deb 26 April 1988 vol 132 c114W
Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he last met representatives of the Malaysian Government.

Mr. Eggar

My right hon. and learned Friend visited Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei from 5 to 10 April. We enjoy close and developing relations with all three countries. In Malaysia he had valuable discussions with the Deputy Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister and the Minister for Education on bilateral links and a range of regional and international issues.

As part of our common stand on drugs issues, we agreed in principle to work for a reciprocal agreement on the confiscation of drug traffickers' assets.
