To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to reach a decision on the future of Hampstead heath; if he will take into account the views expressed by the Association of London Authorities; and if he will make a statement.

[holding answer 25 April 1988]: Any representations made by the Association of London Authorities or any other organisation or individual will be taken into account by my right hon. Friend in reaching his decision on the future of Hampstead heath. I expect the decision to be taken in good time for an orderly transfer of responsibility with effect from 1 April 1989.
