HC Deb 26 April 1988 vol 132 c111W
76. Mr. Anthony Coombs

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the United Kingdom's contribution to the cost of the United Nations peacekeeping force in Cyprus; and what proportion of the contingent is manned by British forces.

Mrs. Chalker

Figures for the financial year 1987–88 are incomplete. The outturn for 1986–87, the last year for which figures are available, was £20,169,594 net of recoveries. The British contingent is, according to the latest available figure, 741 officers and men out of a total United Nations force in Cyprus of 2,122.
