§ Mr. HindTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what his Department estimates will be the increases paid by Lancashire district health authorities in lieu of rates or rates to Lancashire county council and district councils in 1988–89; and if he will make a statement;
(2) how much each district health authority in Lancashire paid to Lancashire county council and district councils in lieu of rates or rates in 1987–88; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. NewtonInformation on rates, all rates paid and due to be paid by health authorities to county and district councils is not collected "in year". Health authority annual accounts for 1987–88 are not due for submission to the Department until the end of June 1988. Information for that financial year will be available in the autumn. In the meantime, my hon. Friend may wish to contact the chairman of North Western regional health authority who will be able to provide the information he requires.
