§ Mrs. CurrieData on the incidence of cancer, including histological type, are collected centrally in England and Wales, and in Scotland, from regional cancer registries. Statistics from these data, excluding histological type, are published annually in "Cancer Statistics series MB 1 for England and Wales", and in "Scottish Health Statistics for Scotland". Copies are in the Library.
Comparable statistics for Northern Ireland are not readily available.
Information on the total number of women suffering from cancer at a particular point in time, as opposed to the incidence of new cases, is not collected centrally, nor could it be without encountering very great practical difficulties.
