§ Mrs. RoeIt is not possible to make any precise estimate of the demand for private rented accommodation at market rents. It is, however, clear that there will always be people who want to rent, in particular, the young, single and mobile and those who cannot afford owner-occupation. We owe it to these people to provide a healthy private sector and we are confident that deregulation of future lettings will help to achieve this objective.
